“I started out with Stefanie at her first NY trade show. This event was an exciting leap into wholesale on the big stage of New York City. I was excited to be part of the ground floor and to help be part of building that piece of the business. Though this has been my primary focus, I seem to have my hands in many aspects of the business." Q: What is your favorite piece to wear?A: I LOVE the Gold Leaf 44" necklace! I don't like to admit this but I own 3 of them, LOL!! To really make a statement I wear one long and a 2nd doubled to give me 3 layers of beautiful golden dangly leaves and the 3rd wraps to a fantastic bracelet that is irresistible to touch.
Helayne's unfaltering attention to detail has earned her the nickname "Eagle Eye Helayne" around the studio. Helayne is also the talented pottery artist behind our Vineyard Keepsake Bowls.Q: What fun fact can you share about yourself?A: I am a longtime Grateful Dead fan since 1980. Inspired by the beadwork at the shows, I taught myself how to make intricate seed bead jewelry and beaded barrettes.
"I am the earring queen! I like that the earrings require some extra skill to make and that they are portable. I can take my little jewelry making kit anywhere and have - to many beaches on Martha's Vineyard, on the ferry, on trips in this country and to Africa, Haiti and beyond when I travel in my work as a song leader and collector."Q: What fun fact can you share about yourself?A: I wake up before dawn pretty much every day in order to watch the sunrise over the Lagoon near my house.
"I began working at Stefanie Wolf making jewelry in 2011. Eventually I became Production Manager, overseeing our piecework network and all jewelry production. Since I moved off-island to teach art full time, I am back to piecework again!"Q: What's your favorite piece to wear?A: I wear a lot of SWD earrings. Almost every day. There are soooo many different styles and colors to choose from that I always have the perfect match for any outfit, whether it's a dinner date or a hike with my daughter. My two favorites are the Swag Hoops and the Patina Twist earrings that are made with vintage brass components.
