I appreciate your feedback as you are right--- the main image on the page is taken with the earrings laying flat on a surface and not hanging-- so they look a bit wider as you describe. After the main image on the product page there are some additional photos of the earrings worn on a woman and hanging from an earring rack which help show how they look.
